The English Cocker Spaniel is a sturdy, well-built dog, with distinctively long ears that can reach its nose when stretched forward. The skull’s upper plane is almost parallel to that of the muzzle. This breed possesses medium-length hair, and dark, oval eyes. Its nose is colored black or brown, and its jaw has a scissors type of bite. The coat is usually tri-color (black, white and tan), or bi-color with a white background. The stamina of an English Foxhound is integral in its development.

The English Setter’s coat is flat with light feathering of long length. They have a flowing coat that requires regular grooming. The English Setter is a beautiful, elegant, slim setter with a significant speckled coat. The eyes are hazel with a sweet expression. English Setters have a dark nose. The long pendant ears have a velvety tip. The ears, underside, and legs are heavily fringed. The chest is quite deep, but not wide. The tail is straight and tapers to a small point.

They should have a confident bearing. It is strong and refined. Their eyes are medium-sized and have a kind expression. The eyes are either brown or hazel. This would depend on the color of the coat. The coat has medium length and is either flat or wavy and feathered. The coat comes in liver and white, black and white, or blue or liver roan. The white coat may sometimes have streaks of colored hair. The English Springer Spaniel’s neck is fairly long for his body.

The English Toy Spaniel is a sturdy and small spaniel with a deep black pug nose with open nostrils. It has round large and dark eyes and a sweet expression. The English Toy Spaniel’s ears are long and feathered. The ears hang along the cheeks. The coat of an English Toy Spaniel is soft, silky and well feathered. It comes in four colors which are King Charles (black and tan), Ruby (solid red and sometimes with a few streaks of white hair or a white patch on the chest), Blenheim (with red markings, or a red “thumb print” centered on the forehead), and Prince Charles (tri color, consisting of white with black and tan markings. In 1974 it was brought to Great Britain, and in 1998, to the United States. The Estrela Mountain Dog was officially recognized as a breed by the UKC in the year 1996.
