Dog News: Michael Vick Signed To Philadelphia Eagles

August 14th, 2009 by Dan

As a Philadelphian, I can’t fully explain the outrage I’m feeling right now – Michael Vick, who served almost 2 years in federal prison for being the mastermind behind a brutal dog fighting ring, has been signed to the Philadelphia Eagles pro-football team.

How do you explain to children who look up to sports players – that a man who tortured and killed dogs is once again considered a sports icon? Yes, he served his time, but being back in the spotlight of professional sports is a privilege that Vick should have lost. Vick should have stepped back into a blue-collar job and have been required earned his modest wages fairly.

I can say with full confidence, the animal loving community of Philadelphia doesn’t want him and they’re not going to remain quiet about it.

If I lived in Philly, I would make life so hard on the Eagles franchise that no other team would ever consider hiring Vick again.
