Dog News: CNN Reporter Loses Attempt To Evict Massive Mastiff

June 16th, 2009 by Dan

Late last month CNN correspondent, Soledad O’Brien, had her final efforts to evict a 150+ pound Neapolitan Mastiff named Ugo, thrown out of court by a Housing Court Judge. O’brien resides in a fancy New York co-op in the Chelsea neighborhood, where she urged the board to file the initial eviction notice against Steven Lyon, Ugo’s owner. The affidavit stated that Ugo was in violation because of his “size, slobbering, shedding, drooling, gassiness and odors.” Lyon’s says that Ugo is groomed 3 times a month, is spritzed with deodorizer and even offered to take the freight elevator. The co-op had a “pets allowed” policy at the time Lyon’s purchased his $3 million unit.

The case was dismissed when the judge found that Ugo’s owners weren’t served legal papers pertaining to the suit correctly.
