The variations between some of the basic physiological values of canines and humans can be vast when you compare them side by side! Here are a few examples for you to take into consideration.

* The average human body temperature is 98.6ºF, while the average canine body temperature is 102ºF.

* The average human adult heart rate ranges from 50-100 beats per minute, while the average canine heart rate ranges from 70-120 beats per minute.

* The average human respiratory rate for an adult at rest ranges from 12–20 breaths per minute, while the average canine at rest ranges from 18-34 breaths per minute.

* The olafactory segment of a dog’s brain (the system that detects sense of smell)is 40 times larger than that of a human! No wonder dogs are sniffing all of the time!
