This is a good article. At my shelter, there are either cards or a paper attached to the dog kennel with the reason for why the dog was brought in, it’s name, a brief discription, and it’s medical history. The volunteers on duty will speak to the potential adopter about whether or not the dog will be a good match, and we closely observe the dogs for a week before declaring them ready for adoption so we know what they’re like and how they interact with other animals.
