Auctioned Home Sells For 800K - To Benefit Rescue Dogs!
Before retired engineer, Kenneth Munzert died last year, he planned to leave his home to the one that mattered most - his rescued German Shepherd, Beauregard. The SPCA of Richmond, VA vowed to care for the dog after his master died. However, Beauregard died before his owner. Munzert wanted to thank the group that had promised to care for his pet and went along with his plan to leave his home to the ASPCA. The funds will be used to help rescued animals and also to care for pets whose owners have passed away.

This past Tuesday the home was auctioned off for $808,500. Munzert also left $990,228 in assets (not including the home) - 3/4ths of the money is set to go to animal related charities.
He also chose to leave his personal belongings to the director of the ASPCA who had agreed to care for Beauregard initially. One prized possession is the Shepherd’s bowl inscribed with the phrase “To Man’s Best Friend - His Dog.”
