Product Review: Whole Life Dog Treats

August 1st, 2008 by Dan

As some of you may know, I’m exceptionally picky about what goes into my dogs mouths. Lucian has been raw fed since he came home and soon after I switched reef over to the same diet. So when it comes to treats, I am a label reader. Just because my dogs love what I’m giving to them, that doesn’t mean it has to be a “junk food”.

Whole Life dog treats must smell really good to the canine nose, as Lucian started drooling when I took out a small piece of the Venison variety. This is something he usually reserved for before meal time. The freeze-dried piece was devoured in a second and then he gave me a look as if to say “You have more of these, don’t you?”.

Whole Life Dog Treats - Chicken

As I said, the treats are freeze-dried and don’t contain anything but the protein stated on the bag. No chemicals, grains, or preservatives. Whole Life Treats would be a good choice for dogs with food allergies – even those with sensitivities to certain meats, as they come in 7 different varieties – White Meat Chicken, Beef Muscle, Beef Liver, Turkey Meat, New Zealand Venison, Lamb and Wild Caught Cod.

Another perk of these treats is that they can be shared – they are appropriate for both dogs and cats (a perk in this house!). They are also easily broken into small pieces to be used during training. Lucian was very attentive when he realized the liver treat was what he was working for!
