* If your dog is “crying” in Wanassa, New Jersey, it is breaking the law.

* In Chicago, Illinois, it is illegal to give a dog whiskey.

* In Oklahoma, making faces at a dog is considered a crime that could result in jail time.

* It is against the law for a dog to chase a cat up a telephone pole in International Falls, Minnesota. Dog owners can be fined for their unruly canines behavior.

* In Illinois it is against the law to give a lighted cigar to a pet.

* In Glendale, CA, it is illegal for owners to allow their dogs to chase squirrels in the summer.

* It is against the law in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to keep a “smelly” dog.

* In Lebanon, Oregon, a City Council order reads: “No dog shall be in a public place without its master on a leash.”

* In 2002, a law that had been in place since the 1980’s in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio was finally repealed. The law specifically prevented animals of any kind from defecating within the city. Pooches finally uncrossed their legs.
