Product Review: Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball

June 10th, 2008 by Dan

I have a few treat balls to keep Reef and Lucian busy, but the Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball has a few features that make it a favorite here. Unlike many of the other toys that dispense treats, the Tricky Treat Ball is soft rubber – it doesn’t make a horrible noise while rolling across the floor and it isn’t hard enough to damage anything in your house (or your dogs teeth!). The surface of the ball has many little indents, to make it easier for your dog to pick up the toy and carry it around. You can insert your dogs favorite dry treats or kibble into the hole in the ball and watch as he tries to figure out how to get it all out.

This ball is a great way to keep your dog stimulated while you are out of the house and may help dogs with separation anxiety stay occupied. The ball measures 5 x 5 x 5 inches – it is an ideal toy for medium and large sized dogs, although even smaller dogs are able to roll around the light-weight ball.

I have the Omega treat ball for my 3 dogs and they all love it. I just put their dog food in it and they play with it for hours( I sometimes will put a special treat in so each time I give it they don’t know what to expect and it keeps them interested). I origionally bought it for my white lab because she always wants to play or chew on something. I had previously bought one of the harder balls for her since she litterally destroys everything she chews on but she didn’t like it because it was a hard plastic and I had to return it and thought I would try the Omega ball. The Omega ball is sturdy enough for her to chew and not destroy and it is fun to watch her or all the dogs play with it like a soccer ball. I highly recomend buying this for any dog it keeps them entertained when you are busy and can’t play and like I said we have had this ball for about 6 months and it is still in tact so it’s really strong and sturdy but not a hard rubber.
