Product Review: Large Drinkwell Fountain For Big Dogs

June 18th, 2008 by Dan

Some of you may know of Drinkwell Fountains for cats, but did you know that these unique inventions are now made for dogs too? The Drinkwell Pet Fountain was veterinarian-designed and promotes the intake of healthy, oxygenated, fresh water. This is especially useful in animals who have Kidney issues to promote hydration. Unlike water in a bowl that just sits, a drinkwell provides a constantly flowing stream of water that is never stagnant.

The unit simply plugs in and then fresh, clean tasting water starts to cycle through the charcoal filter (it is reusable for up to 6-8 weeks). This fountain has a capacity of over 2 gallons! Enough to keep even the biggest dogs hydrated! (though little ones like it too!)

My dog has a water obsession. Like, he never has water left in his bowl because he just drinks it all immediatly. I’ve tried keeping his bowl full all the time and he just continuously drinks until he pukes. Do you think something like this would work for him if he realizes there will always be water in it? Or do you think he will just drink and drink and drink?
