Dog Swallows Toxic Toad- Both Live!
Cane Toads are highly toxic and can kill a dog in less than 20 minutes, but Bella the dog didn’t know that when she gulped one down as her owner, an Australian rugby player named Jackson Crews, tossed her some of his leftover “pies and pasties”. Crews saw the whole incident and immediately called the Vet. He rushed Bella in where they gave her an injection to induce vomiting. She threw up the “pies and pasties”, but nothing else. After about 40 minutes they gave Bella another dose of the drug and up came the toad- alive and well (though quite gross)! The Veterinary staff decided to call the toad “Spew”.
