Product Review: Dogswell Happy Hips Treats
If you’re anything like me, you want to know exactly what you are feeding to your dogs. As a raw feeder I can easily control my pups daily meals, however finding treats I am happy with has been much more of a challenge. Then I found out about Dogswell. Dogswell is a company that puts out a complete line of natural jerky-type treats that are fortified with vitamin and mineral supplements. They use chicken, beef, duck and lamb to create healthy snacks that no dog could ever refuse! With names like Happy Hips, Breathies and Mellow Mutt, there is a variety fitting for almost every dog. All Dogswell products contain no hormones, no antibiotics, no byproducts, no added salt, no wheat, no corn, no gluten, no BHA/BHT.
I have recently been feeding both Lucian and Reef Happy Hips treats. Due to Lucian’s extra large size (he is 142 lbs and still growing!), I want to be sure to do all I can to maintain the health of his hips, elbows and joints. Reef is about to turn 7, and though she is as active and fit as ever, I also don’t mind her getting a little bit of maintenance in the joint department as well!
We tried 2 varieties of Healthy Hips - Chicken Breast (Contains: Chicken Breast, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulfate, Vitamin E Supplement) and Lamb and Rice (Contains: Lamb, Rice, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulfate, Vitamin E Supplement). While the dogs gulped down both of them eagerly, I personally am happier with the chicken formula as I avoid most grains when I feed my dogs. However they loved both of them and most dogs would do well with any of the varieties.
The serving size for Happy Hips is 1 treat per 15 1bs. Since they are jerky style they can be broken into smaller pieces if needed. Check out these healthy snacks! You’ll feel comfortable knowing exactly what you are giving your dog!
