Crufts Alert! The World’s Largest Dog Show Starts Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the opening day of the Crufts dog show in Birmingham, UK. This years event is expecting almost 23,000 dogs! That number includes 1,165 international dogs coming from overseas.

Tomorrow’s judging includes the Toy and Utility Groups.
Because showing in the UK is a bit different than showing in the United states, dogs fall under different groupings and some breeds that are shown in the UK are not recognized in the US. (and some breeds are even called different names in the UK then they are in the US!) Here are the dogs that are going to be shown tomorrow.

Toy Group: Affenpinscher, Australian Silky Terrier, Bichon Frise, Bolognese, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua (long and smooth coat), Chinese Crested, Coton De Tulear, English Toy Terrier, Griffon Bruxellios, Havanese,Italian Greyhound, Japanese Chin, King Charles Spaniel, Lowchen, Maltese, Miniature Pinscher, Papillon, Pekingese, Pomeranian, Pug, and Yorkshire Terrier

Utility Group: Akita, Boston Terrier, Bulldog, Canaan Dog, Chow Chow, Dalmatian, French Bulldog, German Spitz (klein and Mittel) , Japanese Akita Inu, Japanese Shiba Inu, Japanese Spitz, Keeshond, Lhasa Apso, Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle (toy, mini and standard), Schipperke, Schnauzer, Shar Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, Tibetan Terrier

While this dog show is a HUGE event in the UK (and in the dog world!) it is only being televised on the BBC2 network! BOO! I know as a US dog enthusiast, I am quite disappointed with this decision! We’re going to work hard to provide you details of this event even though we’re not going to be able to fly to the UK to cover it for you!
