The Tragedy of Edna

December 4th, 2007 by Dan

Usually we like to write about happy things here at the DogGuide, but sometimes there is a story that can’t be ignored. The story of Edna the dog is one of these times. I was forwarded this story today and was unable to get through the entire article the first time I sat down to read it. It is important that we are aware of the dangers that are out there for our beloved pets and that we try to take any measures we can to keep them protected from those who might do them harm.

It is such a heart touching story. I can’t believe how can people just hurt the ones who can’t speak. Dogs are wonderful friends to humans and I don’t understand when they don’t harm us why should we harm them. Such people are sick. Hope Edna is fine wherever she is.

The really sad part about all of this…is that Edna is a therapy dog. Her owner takes her into hospitals to help the sick. She is a very loving and trusting dog. If her owner has gotten calls from these people why can’t someone trace these calls back to the source? Is there anyone out in internet land that has the clout to pull some records and find out who these people are?

I will never understand people who kill just to do it. This 15 year old must not have been taught to respect all sentient beings. He needs to be locked up until he gets it and at the very least his parents should buy the poor man a new puppy.
