Product Review: Tug-A-Jug

December 8th, 2007 by Dan

I recently purchased the largest size Tug-A-Jug for my dog Lucian, as he is one of those dogs who adores his toys. It’s always a great feeling to see him bounding through the house with his new “prize” lolling out one side of his mouth.

The Busy Buddy consists of a hard plastic “jug” that has a bottom that screws off so that you can fill it with small treats. At the neck of the bottle sits a chewy rubber knobby ring and protruding from the mouth of the bottle is a knotted rope toy. There is a small bit of space between the rope toy and the rubber ring for the treats to fall out when the bottle is jostled around during play. This toy is very much a BUSY one!! There is a lot going on here readers!

Lucian loves this toy- it was a huge hit from day one. The rope seems to be the selling point, which is surprising since it does give out treats. He seems quite content to sit on the futon with it and “floss” with the rope for a good hour or so. The downside of the toy is when he does get in a wild mood and decides he wants to fling it around is that it is extremely hard and thus very noisy! You will think something important is being broken, but luckily the toy is well made, and when you come running you will find it intact. All in all, the Tug-A-Jug is a unique kind of treat dispenser. We recommend it! The cold weather is setting in and your pooch needs stimulation to keep him from winter boredom!
