Ask The Dog Guide: Dog Aggression

July 22nd, 2007 by Dan

We received a couple questions recently from people dealing with dog aggression, in varying degrees. One woman’s dog had past abuse, and has some fear aggression and overly-protective behavior going on now. Another’s has exhibited animal, and occasionally human, aggression for some time.

For anyone dealing with aggression behaviors, consult a behaviorist! These issues are not simple, and always need significant human intervention to control/redirect or otherwise handle. No matter what the source of your companion’s aggression, it’s important to realize that until you find long-term solutions through behavioral work, you have a loose cannon on your hands.
