Treat Recipe!

March 7th, 2007 by Dan

We like home-made food and treats for our dogs; from time to time we’ll post recipes for you to try. This one is fairly simple:

Simple homemade dog biscuits

2.5 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup milk
3/4 cup hot water
2 low sodium beef or chicken bouillon cubes OR 3/4 cup of chicken or beef broth
1 large jar of meat flavored baby food (beef, liver or chicken)

Dissolve the bouillon cubes in the hot water then add in the milk and the baby food and mix well. In a separate bowl mix the flour and oatmeal. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry mix and combine. Press onto an ungreased cookie sheet and cut into whatever shapes you desire. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown. Turn off the heat and leave the treats in the oven to harden. Refrigerate after baking.
